NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH INFORMATION:

Even though the incident above was NOT CHANTILLY HIGHLANDS, I wanted you to be aware because of the recent car window vandalism we had on Scotsmore Way and Kinross Circle. It is important to pay attention to surrounding areas as well. This is directly from the Police report list: Each one represents a police report taken for a different address. The address is not allowed to be published, so only the street will be released.

Remember that the police want to hear from you. They need your help. If you are walking your dog and see something that just doesn’t look right, call the police with the information that you wrote down. (Not a bad idea to carry something to write with while walking)

If you are coming home late at night and see a car that doesn’t look familiar and someone is sitting in the car that doesn’t look like they belong in the neighborhood, the police WANT you to call. I was just told by the Crime Prevention Officer that they “would rather hear from 20 people and have it be nothing, than to not hear from anyone and that person and that car is someone they were looking for in another incident”.So we all need to be involved in keeping our neighborhood safe. You can help just by being observant while you go about your daily tasks of going to work, walking the dog or baby, walking the neighborhood with friends, just be AWARE and REPORT ANYTHING SUSPICIOUS TO THE NON EMERGENCY NUMBER GIVEN ABOVE.

If it is a crime in progress call 911 immediately!

I was also told that most crimes are solved because a neighbor or citizen calls and the piece of the puzzle comes together with the information provided.
I will be getting crime and incident reports that I will be posting on the website weekly, so don’t forget to go to www.chha.org to get the latest information. The reports will also be in the monthly newsletter. If you would like to receive these incident reports via email, please contact me at kdone414@aol.com and I will be putting together a citizen notification email group soon. Please put in the subject line ‘CITIZEN CRIME NOTIFICATION GROUP”. This way you can get the weekly report directly to your email account. The more aware we are, the safer the community will be! If you would like to volunteer for the Neighborhood Watch Committee feel free to contact me!
