No new business.
Community Facilities:
The pool entrance door is going to be fixed on May 5th. The
concrete at the wading pool has settled and shifted back, and
we’ll see if the county will pass it. The fence by the pool has
been fixed. A board member has volunteered to help with the
entrance sign light situation. The pool contract has been read
by board members, amended, and will be submitted.
Land Management:
Responsibility for drain management was discussed and will be
researched further. The contractor in charge of the grass will
meet with the board to discuss future grass cutting possibilities
and challenges.
Civic Affairs:
There was a public hearing on April 20th for a plan amendment
for the property south of Wall Road to change the plan
designation to allow for additional residential use on this parcel.
A committee member attended on behalf of CHHA.
Diversified, the appraisal company working for Shirley Construction,
has requested a meeting regarding common area easement
negotiation. They will need to enter into a temporary
construction easement and permanent easement related to the
widening of Centreville road. Board members will meet with
them to resolve this matter.
Fairfax County Dept of Transportation is finishing the final
report on if Chantilly Highlands qualifies for the Residential
Traffic Administration Program (R-TAP), and is recommending
Watch for Children signs be added in the neighborhood. The
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will probably vote on this
in July. No changes will be made without community input.
A committee will be established to work on negotiations with
Lincoln Properties. Lincoln Properties is the developer of the
parcel just west of the neighborhood on Centreville Road. We
will try to arrange for them to come see the board and discuss
their zoning proposal and alternatives.
Architectural Control Committee:
The sub-committee reviewed 2 cases and the ACC will meet
with the homeowners to resolve differences.
A new member, Brian Keagy, has joined the ACC committee.
Brian was warmly welcomed.
The ACC has received the data base to allow them to log and
track the results of the walk through. Letters to homeowners
with ACC violations from the walk through is delayed while the
ACC reviews these cases.
Neighborhood Watch:
No new business to discuss at this time. A board member has
attended monthly neighborhood watch coordinators meetings
and Fairfax County Citizens Advisory Committee meetings.
As the days get longer and as schools let out for the summer,
please report suspicious activity in the neighborhood to the
Fairfax County Police.

Announcements and articles upcoming were discussed. Directory
format was discussed.

The board member and committee have filled database requests
and will work to clean up the database and collect emails.
New Business:
MS Fundraiser:
The board decided to support this effort by allowing
the group to use the facility free of charge; however,
cleaning fees are the responsibility of the group.
Community Wide Trash Service:
This matter was researched and the research showed that group
services would not be discounted enough to make the idea
worth the effort involved.
Basketball Court/Multi-purpose Court at Tennis Courts:
Basketball courts were voted on by homeowners previously,
and were not approved due to cost.
Volleyball Pit:
A resident inquired about installing a volleyball pit at the pool.
This idea was passed on to the long range planning committee
for their consideration when forming the plan.
Meeting Adjournment:
Mark Hassinger made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Jeff
Boehlert seconded it. The meeting was adjourned at 9:06pm.
