Treasurer’s Report:
There are still about 20 outstanding
homeowner dues. Messages have been left for these
people, and pool privileges have been suspended until
the dues are paid.
Community Activities:
Plans are going forward on the
Teen Pool Party and the Community Day event. Volunteers
are needed and the request will be in the newsletter.
Long Range Planning:
No new business to discuss at
this time.
Community Facilities:
No Committee Report this month.
Land Management:
The Land Management Committee
is evaluating the sprinkler system serving the community
center and pool area and investigating the costs
associated with getting the system into working order
and maintained on an annual basis. The intent is to get
the system working and then provide plantings within
the sprinkler area that could be properly irrigated. The
Land Management Committee is continuing to evaluate
the mowing of common area throughout the community.
This involves the gas lines as well as other common
grounds. The Land Management Committee will
be walking the community and developing a plan to cut
and maintain appropriate areas throughout the community
with consideration being given to community aesthetics
and costs.
Encroachment of trees on common grounds has been discovered
by the Land Management Committee and will
be looked into. The county has been contacted to help
resolve the blocked storm drain near Muirkirk.
Civic Affairs:
The Board is continuing to discuss the
Centreville Road land taking and easements with Diversified
Properties, the firm supervising right of way acquisition for the project.
The Board is attempting to meet with Lincoln Properties
with regard to their rezoning development plan across
Centreville Road.
Architectural Control Committee:
There are two ACC
violation appeals cases that are ongoing. The ACC Appeals
Committee is working with the residents towards
a resolution.
Neighborhood Watch:
A child’s bag was stolen at the
pool and reported to the police. Bag was recovered
with items missing. A sign warning residents of theft
and the need to watch belongings was put out. The
neighborhood watch committee still needs volunteers.
Communications - Newsletter and Website:
Announcements
and articles upcoming were discussed. Directory
format was discussed. Resident requested that we continue
to put the notice to keep speeds down on the
Community Streets in the newsletter.
Database:
Residents are updating their information to
update the directory on the web. The process for getting
the updates reliably into the CHHA database was
discussed and will be examined for difficulties.
Old Business:
Common fencing issues along Centreville
Road have been discussed and are being worked on by
community members.
Volunteers are currently being recruited to help in the
process of evaluating and possibly implementing traffic
calming on Kinross and Cobra. This is part of the
county’s R-TAP residential traffic calming program.
New Business:
A sign to tell people to watch their belongings
was placed on the entrance of the pool after
the bag theft. The pool management company has been
notified. A resident expressed interest in having lockers
at the pool and the board will look into the feasibility
and cost of this idea.
Meeting Adjournment:
Wendy Osborn made a motion to
adjourn the meeting and Larry Miller seconded it. The
meeting was adjourned at 9:20pm.
