Thanks to the help of a local police officer who researched the law regarding mopeds, there is more information. Fairfax County Code does not specifically address moped regulations and follows Virginia State Law. Virginia State Code 46.2-915 requires that moped drivers on any state maintained road (that includes all of Chantilly Highlands) must be 16 years of age. The police officer also stated that mopeds are one person vehicles only. The police are aware of the problems that exist both in Chantilly Highlands and Franklin Farms and are watching closely to see that our roads are safe.
