NAME EVALUATION CRITERA
The RAC will apply any of the following seven criteria to select districts or precincts when considering name changes, reflecting on if the name is:

- In violation of the spirit or explicit meaning of the One Fairfax Policy
- Offensive to the community
- Related to the Confederate past
- Associated with segregation, Jim Crow, racism, discrimination, or slave ownership
- Confusing to residents or not geographically representative of the district
- Historically significant or no longer reflective of life in that part of the county
- Helpful for community members to aspire to the best possible quality of life in the future
The RAC is asking residents to lend their voices and share input by recommending any districts or voting precincts you believe should be renamed. You are welcome to express agreement or disagreement, or share your concerns, including any community or economic impacts by:

Almost 357,000 updated 2022 real estate assessments notices are being mailed to all property owners. The real estate assessment notice is not a bill. Most homeowners pay real estate tax as part of a monthly mortgage payment. Your mortgage company then sends the taxes directly to Fairfax County. However, some homeowners pay their real estate taxes directly (due July 28 and Dec. 5). On Tuesday, February 22, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors approved Fairfax Connector bus service changes in the Reston-Herndon area that include connections to the new Metrorail Silver Line stations in Fairfax County (Herndon Station, Reston Town Center Station, and Innovation Center Station).These service changes will go into effect when the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA) begins service to the new Metrorail Silver Line stations.
