Primary Elections
- Early Voting for the Presidential Primaries
In-person early voting for the March 5th presidential primary election in Virginia is underway. Any registered voter can participate in one of the two primaries, either the Democrat or the Republican, but not both. There have been numerous changes in the field of candidates since the ballot was prepared, and the ballot will contain the names of candidates who qualified for the ballot but have since dropped out of the race. - While the internet has become an integral part of our daily lives, its continued evolution brings forth new challenges, especially with user safety. The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) recently published a guide to help community members browse the internet more safely. By following these simple yet effective tips, community members can help create safer online experiences.
If you encounter any suspicious or threatening behavior online, please report it by calling 911 or the non-emergency number at 703-385-7924. If you do fall victim to an online financial crime, it can be reported via the Financial Crimes Online Reporting website.

- Free Program Helps Eligible Homeowners and Renters Lower Their Utility Bills Through Home Upgrades
- Would you like to lower your utility bills? Is your home uncomfortable or difficult to heat and cool? Community Housing Partners (CHP) Energy Solutions is a non-profit that provides no-cost, government and utility-funded improvements to increase the energy efficiency, health, and safety of your home. This can include insulation upgrades, LED light bulbs, heating & cooling repairs, and more.
The program helps qualified families reduce energy costs by improving the energy efficiency and health of their homes via the federal Weatherization Assistance Programand other funding sources. In addition, CHP Energy Solutions partners with electric and gas utility companies to provide energy efficiency and energy conservation measures for their age- and income-qualifying residential customers.
Homeowners and renters can check if they qualify by calling 888-229-3714 or by visiting the program website. CHP Energy Solutions is the VA Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) designated weatherization provider for our community. All improvements are provided at no cost, and are based on a site assessment and program guidelines.

- Provide Feedback for a Transportation Study on Route 28 in Yorkshire
- The Prince William County Department of Transportation is gathering public input for a multimodal corridor study on Route 28 in the Yorkshire area. The study explores cost-effective alternatives to enhance multimodal travel options over a two-mile stretch of Route 28. The subject area directly borders Fairfax County, and community members who frequent this portion of Route 28 are encouraged to participate in the online survey (available until February 29).
